When Mila began her mentorship, she had already written 53 pages of her fantasy novel about two young girls transported to the magical realm of Alrana. Though brimming with creative ideas and passion for her story, Mila sought guidance in developing more vivid descriptions, creating consistent world-building elements, and refining her narrative structure. While balancing school responsibilities, theater performances, and Jiu Jitsu training, Mila was determined to transform her initial draft into a fully realized novel with compelling characters and an intricate fantasy world.

With more than 28 chapters already written and approaching the climax of her story, Mila aims to complete her first full draft by September 2025. She plans to integrate her character drawings more fully into her creative process, having discovered how sketching scenes helps her visualize and describe them more vividly. Mila has set ambitious goals for spring and summer: writing 25 new pages during spring break and completing second-round edits through Chapter 28 by June. Beyond completion, she's exploring options to build an 'engagement story' showcasing her creative journey through artifacts like character profiles, drawings, and polished excerpts that demonstrate her growth as a writer.
